Spring 2009 Progeny Report . . .
We feel 100% confident that Pioneer is a safe choice for use on heifers & we proved that by selecting him as the main natural service herd sire used on heifers at Gibbs Farms this winter. Our fall 2008 Pioneer babies came out of three and four year old cows and they were very light birth weight, small head and refined bone, yet very vigorous at birth. We don’t feel there’s any question that he will be a great SimAngus choice for heifers. They will be moderate performance and really fancy profiling animals. If he transmits his tremendous individual carcass scanning ability to his offspring, then it will be exciting at scan time this fall. Watch for the Pioneer sons to be some of the low birth weight featured bulls in our sale this fall. Pioneer semen is available directly from Gibbs Farms.
