When school is out for the summer, the Gibbs grandsons Bradley, Clayton, and Sam jump right in the mix of things pretty much full time. Bradley and Clayton have spent most of the summer on a tractor, mowing hay, teddering hay, raking hay, and clipping pastures. Sam starts out early in the morning with either Wendell or Dusty as they carry a little supplement to the heifer pastures and check them over. Sam also has been helping Rob with work on our herd sire facility, converting all the old wooden board lots into pipe.

Sam & Bradley harvested sweet corn, then cut the stalks & hauled
them to the bull pastures for the bulls to eat. |
Clayton took time away from a tractor long enough to harvest some blueberries for Mrs. Gibbs, he knows the reward that will be coming all winter. |

Sam helps Rob install a gate in the new pipe pens at our herd sire
facility. When you have 20-25 herd sires, many of them mature,
good facilities makes life a lot more pleasant. |
Rob Harms, Gibbs Farms herdsman - Rob joined us part-time in July 2006 to assist in building all the pipe pens at our sale & working facility. He has been with us since.
