	OCTOBER 2008 Let's Go Fishing...with Spencer Hodges Well, Spencer has been at it again. He teamed up with good friend Dennis McCall for a 4 day fishing trip over his fall break from East Carolina University. They went to the James River in Virginia and fished the area between Hopewell and Williamsburg. They had a great trip with numerous fish in the 30 and 40 pound range along with two that tipped the scales above 50 at 54 lbs. and 57 lbs.

	Spring & Summer 2008 Junior Shows The Gibbs kids had a great spring and summer showing in numerous local shows, several state shows, and the AJSA Eastern Regional that was held in Alabama this year.

	SEPTEMBER 10 , 2008 Craig Hays from UltraInsights in Diaganol, Iowa does our ultrasound carcass scanning. We take yearling weights and scan all the bulls and heifers each year with the data turned in to the American Simmental Association. We also retain ownership in all of our steers and receive the harvest carcass data back on them as well.

	AUGUST 20, 2008 It was photo day for this year's sale animals. We bring in a couple local guys to help us get the sale animals clipped and cleaned up, then we take the photos ourselves. Its not a professional job, but its pretty fancy for us. We pull the photo candidates right out of the pastures, clean them up, take the photo, and then they go right back to the pastures.

	AUGUST 12, 2008 Dr. Sam Edwards and his crew from Harrogate Genetics International were at the farm flushing and freezing embryos on five of the Gibbs Farms donors. We generally flush and freeze two or three times during the year and all the embryos are put in at the start of breeding season about the 25th of November.

	SPRING 2007 Hay making was good in the early spring of 2007, but then the drought set in & very little hay was made for the rest of the season.

	MARCH 2007 The Gibbs grand-kids attended the 2007 North Alabama Junior Beef Expo & the 2007 Alabama State Junior Beef Expo.
